We are not people who complain much, but appreciate simple things, and be happy with the least gesture. However, even though we are positive people, unfortunately have to open up when things are bad. Sadly enough to say, Pride of Airlie is one of these rare moments.
Thankfully not paying the full price of $500 each (had bought them cheaper from a friend of ours), the price does not reflect the service we were given - from the crew, to the run down accommodation, to the cheap food, till the 'happy service' they provide.

The Crew
1. As much as cool it may sound, hiring a 'young backpacker' to lead the tour is already a mistake. Apart from the 'script', it's
quite disappointing when you ask a question, and cannot get an answer. We get it, a local wouldn't know otherwise, however

you should get a team leader who is actually background interested in the subject right? This is also sad to say that the

receptionist on the island, was also not interested in hearing questions, and when asked what else to do around the island,

just advised us to look at the map she had given us.
2. Not in a racist way - The team leader was British, therefore quickly became friends with the fellow British people, who were

interested in partying. This being said, our first night (before the grand boat departure to Whitehaven Beach), got pissed

drunk. To an extent 'she/he' was the main reason for the loud drinking games and noise, and was unable to quiet the people

down at 2am.
3 When a fellow traveler got injured late at night with blood involved, the so-called 'crew' panicked (obviously still drunk) and

couldn't assist with a simple thing as obtaining plasters. She/he advised there was no-one on the island she can ask, and had

no authority to get to a first aid. That felt very supporting!

The Food
1. First come, first serve! There was not enough food! Ever! Be it breakfast, lunch, or bbq on the boat. It was not the first time they ran out of food, and left people hungry.
2. Very basic, and limited. First night was Pasta Bolognese. This was overcooked, and literally an open can of tomato sauce. People who advised were gluten-free also ended up not eating any of the pasta even though the company was advised before. Breakfast - We are still not entirely sure if the Weetabix was actually Weetabix, and for over 22people - just one toaster. Second night? Very, very hot Pasta. Again, for the amount of money you pay, you wouldn't expect to eat 'backpacker food'on a resort would you?

The Accommodation
Room lights wouldn't work, no towels/soap provided in the rooms (only managed to obtain a towel by convicing her that the room will be in a mess after people showering and have no carpet), the whole resort was run-down, spider-webs everywhere, no fans or ventilation (boiling hot), and why would they even bother cleaning and wiping the general toilet, or putting toilet paper in for customers to use?

The Pride of Airlie
Our Cabin

The tour also felt rushed, snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef wasn't even in a good location, however we did our best in trying to find the silver lining in everything, and still made friends who till now still are in contact.
It was sad to hear other people complaining too, however it made us feel slightly better that we were not the only ones who felt this way, however for the very first time in our lives, we could have only hoped for a better tour to book the much anticipated and special Whitsunday Islands Tour!
