the unwelcomed

change of plans

8th March 2016 - 10th July 2016

On the day of 10th March 2016, an unexpected thing happened that changed the course of our travels in NZ. Heading to Cathedral's Cove in the Coromandel in the morning, we drove through Karangahake Gorge to view the Gold Mining town, then a 1km railway tunnel. In an attempt of 4mins, we had majority of our possessions stolen – apart from GoPros, laptop, wallets, cameras (costing around $4000), we had our documents and passports stolen. Having to sell the van a couple of days later as we were told we had to fly back home, we managed to make it back to Auckland, and got a job in Warkworth to settle down. Bieng ping-pong between consulates and embassies, MFA's and Immigrations, no-one knew what to do with us! Finally obtaining a Certificate of Identity after 4months, and meeting amazing people on the farm along the way, we bought a car, and headed off once again to give NZ a Second Chance!

Passport Timeline
10/03 – Passports and other documents (+ electronics) stolen. Bank cards cancelled. Reported to the Police and filed a Police Report.
11/03 – Advised by the Maltese Consulate in Auckland that we have to fly to Australia to obtain our passports. We also received a call from the High Commission in Canberra and told us the only solution was to get a document from the German Embassy based in NZ. Also advised need to confirm our Visa statuses if passports gets cancelled. Called Immigration and confirmed our WHV is still active.
12/03 – Went back to the place where the robbery took place. Left notes and checked if documents were thrown out. Sent papers to High Commission with a Declaration that Passports were stolen.
14/03 - Visited the Post Office and enquired about the 18+ card to have some form of documentation, and advised we need a Certificate of Identity.
15/03 - Called to apply for an 18+card, and advised once again need the Certificate of Identity (CoI). Called Passports NZ to enquire what this is, and informed us it is a passport replacement and can be issued to travel Australia and get our passports done there. Meantime, received a call from the High Commission in Australia and advised the only solution was to travel back to Malta. Advising of the newly discovered CoI, they require an email from Passports NZ advising they need this document. Called the German Embassy who advised they are unable to assist, referred us to the UK Embassy, and after calling, advised they do not issue passports anymore. Walking in Passports NZ Office, and trying to see if we fit the Criteria, they advised the did not have the authority to email the High Commissions in Australia. Calling the Consulate in Auckland, she advised us her hands was tied and was unable to help us. We then received a call from the High Commission stating the Declaration for Cancelled Passports was declined as the application was not signed by a Justice of Peace. Advised us to get this signed by the Consulate, however advised what she said ealrier, and told us will personally contact her. We immediately received a text message from the Consulate stating to go to a library or a police station for the signature.
16/03 - Calling the Consulate in Wellington instead to advise on the situation and for support, it went through to voicemail and emailed her instead. Got the Declaration of Passports signed by a Justice of Peace, and submitted them.
18/03 - Received a call from the High Commission that the letter for the Certificate of Identity was signed and can be sent once we have a fixed address.
19/03 - Updated Police Report as we realised more stuff was actually stolen, and to confirm if Immigration has been advised of our situation.
24/03 - Received a call from the MFA who advised us will look into our situation.
12/04 - Received a phone call from the High Commission in Canberra confirming that a Travel Document CAN be issued to fly to Australia and get passports issued there.
24/04 - Received original letters from the Embassy for Certificate of Identity.
03/05 - Called Passports NZ to enquire what details to fill in, and were advised a legal letter from Immigration was required our Status here in NZ. Calling Immigration, they advised us they were unable to write this, however after insisting, they said they will get back to us whether it can be processed.
11/05 - Received the Original Letters from Immigration confirming our status in NZ.
13/05 - Had a friend sign off our Certificate of Identity application as a witness of knowing us.
16/05 (Day100 in New Zealand) - Visited the Customer Service Centre to have our CoI signed by a Justice of Peace, then sent all documents and applications to Passports NZ!
13/06 - Certificates of Identity arrived!
01/07 - Receiving an email and a call from the Canberra High Commission, we were advised there is a new Scheme that a Consul will be coming to NZ and would be able to take our biometrics and photo and get our passports issued here.

Diary

          Day392
Visiting Countdown for some Mince Pie Bfast and finding some reduced to clear food, we departed from Orewa, and headed South of Auckland, along the highway SH1. Stopping by Tai Ping Asian Supermarket in Pakuranga, we bought 1.6kgs of Gala Apples (69c per kilo!) and green capsicums. Also stopping by Botany Town Centre, having over 160 shops, we went hopping around, then at 13:15 we finally made our way. Passing through Clevedon, Kawakawa Bay and Orere, a beautiful scenic drive along the beach with a view of Coromandel Peninsula on the other side, and passing through hundreds of butterflies along the way, around 14:50 we arrived at Kaiaua Boat Ramp, our rest area and meeting place with Dennis and Andrè, the Maltese friends who we also met up with in Brisbane. Accidentally waving at a guy in a white car whom we thought were our friends, we ended up making friends with a Maori guy called Kea and his girlfriend who were given a fish by a local and needed a place where to cook it. Providing a cooker and utensils, we meanwhile met up with Dennis and Andrè, enjoyed a good talk and cooked Penne in Tomato Sauce with Beef. Drinking beer, eating amazing desert, and having a good laugh and chat about our experiences, time quickly flew by, and around 22:50 hit to bed and called it a night.
          Day393
After a good morning of coffee, chatting, and eating leftover desert, unfortunately we had to say goodbye (and a seeyou later!) to both Andrè and Dennis, and seperated ways around 10:30.
11:15 Welcome to Coromandel Peninsula. Stopping by Thames, we shopped at Pak N Save, The Warehouse, then after refilling our water bottles, drove across to East, driving through the Rainforest, 46km towards Pauanui. Stopping by the Beach Park at 14:50, we cooked a stir-fry of cabbages, courgettes, tomatoes, ham and eggs, and dipped Vienna bread with Smoked Hickory BBQ Sauce.
16:32 Headed towards the rest area in Tairua. Arriving around 17:00, the sun was blazing hot, and had no shade where to park the car. Playing some cards and killing time, the carpark got full (about 13cars and a bike!), then after the sun setted, headed to bed planning tomorrow's day and getting an early night in.
          Day394
06:05 - 06:45 Arrived at Cathedral Cove Carpark. Walking for 30mins, we were the first to reach the bay and the famous cove. Just a few people in the beach compared to the allegedly usual amount of tourists (they closed the track!), we enjoyed a nice walk along the beach (Mares Leg Cove) and 45minutes later departed. Having a quick look at Gemstone Bay, we drove towards Tairua, passing along the coast and Coromandel Forest Park. Stopping by at Tairua Marine along the Esplanade, we washed our clothes, had a quick outdoor shower and headed 38kms to Whangamata, where we stopped and cooked lunch at Whangamata Beach at 14:40. Cooking an omelette with Fettucine, Courgette, Cabbage and Capsicums, at 16:20 we continued our way! Passing through Whiritoa and Waihi, we continued our way to Owharoa Falls at 17:33, just 100m away from the carpark. Drove another 5kms to Karangahape Mining Gorge. Starting the Window Walk, we first passed by the remains of the Talisman Powerhouse, went over two swing bridges then viewed the remains of the Woodstock Powerhouse. Passing by the Tramway in dark corridors and exploring around, we viewed the Crown Mine Battery, and then walked back and crossed the Pipeline Bridge and onto the Crown Tramway, over the Crown water supply pipeline and the Waitawheta River. After finishing, we walked back to view the Talisman Ruins, and back to the carpark, total of 4.15km.
Realising there was a carpark right next to the Railway Tunnel, we parked the car, and crossed the bridge to view the 1km magnificent dark old railway tunnel. Less than 5minutes, upon returning to the carpark, we saw 4 young guys on bicycles circling our car, and ran off! Trying to run after them, we saw our side window smashed, all the stuff in the front cabin toppled over, and to our terrible fate, all our passports, wallets, identification, bank cards and cameras, ipod and some other belongings were stolen. Quickly calling the police, then cancelling our cards, around 20:00 the police came (25minutes later), filed a report, and drove after them to make some arrangements. Departing around an hour later after temporary 'fixing' the window with a garbage bag and sweeping off the glass, we were advised to sleep at a park amongst other trailers, and hoping that $100 between us with no cards and no identification will be useful!
          Day395
A night of pouring rain (atleast no water seeped through the window with the garbage bag covering the broken glass), we called the Maltese Consulate in NZ to advise her on the situation. Being told that we would need to catch a plane back to Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne (Australia) to renew the passports, we sent the documents required and waited for her to get back to us. Heading towards ANZ , we got issued new bank cards just by showing them the police report. That was easy. Heading to the Library, we googled our options and flights and contacting people, then at 12:10 left towards a Smashing Company to buy a side window. Ordering it, we drove to Countdown and bought some sausages, walked in Second Hand Shops to hopefully find wallets, bags etc, then headed back to the Library and waited for the guy from the Repairs to contact us. Getting the window fixed by 16:20, we received a call from the High Commision in Australia, and advised us that the only solution to get any form of document is from the German Embassy based in NZ. Needing to fill out forms, we quickly went to the Library, however computers were already shut off at 16:55, then quickly drove to the police station maybe they might help us. Finding them out of office, we decided to head back to the Campsite, and cooked Fettucine with Sausages around 17:10. Feeling lost and not knowing what to do and what our next step is, we stayed in the car, thinking and hoping everything will turn out alright.
           Day396
Waking up and driving to the exit of where the incident happened, we tried to drive past slow, seeing if anything was thrown in the bushes. Leon walking around and Kirsten leaving notes with poles just in case anyone sees any documentation to contact us, at 10:30 we quickly departed to the Library to get some things sorted out, printed, scan and send out emails, along with leaving a post on the Library Wall. Just waiting for the High Commissioner to contact us on Tuesday (weekend + bank holiday on Monday), we drove once more to where the incident actually happened, again to walk around and put up posts. Feeling very bad at the amount of cars that there were and that it had to happen to us the other night, we found glass on the floor, a probability of being robbed too, prior or after our incident!
12:55 We departed to Auckland, 122kms, passing by Ngateo, Mangatawhiti and Takanini and Mount Wellington. Arriving at Grafton Budget Hostel at 14:35, we met up with a couple from Denmark who were interested in looking at our car - Mie and Janus. After a good look, spin and quite alot of chatting, the Lucida, against our heart, had found a new owner. Driving to Auckland International Backpackers, we booked a double room for a week, moved all our stuff, said a good proper bye, and at 17:33, Leon drove it back to the other hostel. Dropped here back again by the Janus, we decided it was the best thing to do so nothing will hold us back should we need to fly to another country.
Quick wash, at 19:21 we departed the hostel and started walking towards SkyTower. Meeting up with Dennis and Andre, it was nice to finally meet someone Maltese and feel safe. Stopping by Dae Bak Korean BBQ, we all sat down, brought meat and rice and bacon and other foods on the table, and had fun cooking them on a hot plate. After a good time and taking our minds off things, we made our separate ways at 22:33, and wished them a Buon Voyage back to Australia. Walking back to the hostel, spotting wifi and receiving alot of caring messages from different groups and friends, we went back to the hostel around midnight, hoping things could turn out well and hoping to hear good news from the High Commissioner in Australia on Tuesday.
          Day397
Making some omelette with noodles for bfast, we chilled indoors, and around 12:10 departed towards the city. Walking around Britomart, and Queen street, we stopped at various shops, windowshopping, and debating whether to rebuy some electronics and accessories. Returning back to the hostel at around 16:10, we cooked Sweet and Sour Chicken in Rice and Pineapple. We then walked towards some free wifi to call family, and research on some stuff, staying out till late, then walked back to the hostel to sleep.
          Day398
A sunny morning once again, we had a list of things to do as it was a Monday. Calling IRD to obtain our inland revenue number to work, we then walked to Parnell Library (1.7km away from hostel), and updated our CV's, applied for jobs and searched for ways to obtain certain documents. After almost two and a half hours there, our next step was to go to the Post Office and advise the car was sold. Enquiring about an 18+ card to obtain whilst here to try and have some form of identification (we would need a Certificate of Identification for the card however), we walked around Newmarket, and headed back to the hostel
17:30 Cooked Fusilli in Tomato Sauce with Smoked Beef, then headed back to the room, sorted stuff out, and after watching a film, slept for the night, hoping for some updates tomorrow from the High Commission
          Day399
Giving a quick call to apply for an 18+ card, in order to have some sort of identity, we were advised that we would require a Certificate of Identification for this to be issued. Going to the Park in Parnell for some wifi, we called Passports NZ to enquire how to obtain this. They advised that this was indeed a travel document which can be issued to travel to Australia and obtain our passports there. Meantime, receiving a call from the High Commission, she advised the only solution was to travel back to Malta. Enlighting her about this travel document, she informed us they would be able to issue us a confirmation as to why we would require the Certificate, however would need an email from the Passports NZ stating they need this document. Confused why they require an email, we walked towards the CBD - next to the SkyTower to visit the Passports NZ office. Called the German Embassy to see ig they can assist as they are part of the EU, they said they are unable to help, and referred us to the UK Embassy. Unable to assist us aswell, we walked into the Passport NZ Office, hopefully to get somewhere. Doing their best to see if we fit the criteria, they however had no authority to email the High Commissions in Australia, but advised us the letter they needed was requested on the legal document, and their website. Hoping this would be enough to the Embassy, we called our Consulate Thake to give her an update, to which we learned her hands are tied and was unable to further guide us. Walking towards the hostel, mentally knackered, we received a call from the High Commission telling us the Declaration for Cancelled Passports was declined as we did not sign it in front of a Justice of Peace. Telling us to go to Thake to get this signed, we advised her what her earlier response was, and the High Commission promised to contact her instead. Immediately receiving an sms from Thake, she told us to go to a library or a police station for the paper to be signed. Very helpful!
Deciding to eat out from Parnell Kebabs, we ate Fish and Chips for $5, and Egg Burger with Chips and Pepsi for $10. Finally taking a break, we went back to the hostel, chilled and after watching a film slept, hoping to get somewhere tomorrow!
          Day400
Making some bfast toast, we tried calling the Consulate in Wellington to hopefully obtain some sort of support from someone in NZ, however after going twice to busy, decided to email her instead. Walking to the Auckland City Centre Library, we managed to get the Declaration for Passports signed by a Justice of Peace, and forwarded the docs accordingly. After enjoying a very nice showcase of Shakespeare's work and books from the 16th century, all w have to do now, is wait.
Walking around the City Centre killing time, we walked back to the hostel around 16:00, cooked Sweet and Sour Chicken with Pineapple in Rice, then after watched a film (Spy) headed towards Parnell Road for the free wifi and sort out some things.
Abit far from what expected how we will be spending the 400th day travelling, then again good news as we are still here!
          Day401
Happy St. Paddy's Day!
After having some toast, we headed towards the Wifi Spots to see if we got any updates, look for work, and maybe to see if we can buy any second hand stuff (daypack, cameras, tablets, etc). Grey clouds and rain, we headed back to the hostel, watched a film, and around 13:30 went down to the Communal Kitchen, and started cooking a well deserved meal - 400g of Rump Steak and Gravy, with rice salad mix, and pork sausages. We got ready to go out for St. Patrick's day, walking towards Parnell Rise, it started to rain heavily, so we stopped for some wifi first and let the rain calm down. Rain not stopping, we headed to the Liquor Store and managed to buy x12 Haagen Beer (without a passport!) for $19, then decided it's best to walk back to the hostel and drink some beers first. Just a few minutes later, it started raining heavily again, so we decided it was best to stay at the hostel, than walk roughly 3kms to the CBD and get drenched on the way back!
          Day402
After morning toast, we received a call from Brian who was keen to hire us and advised us to arrive on Sunday to explain how things work, and start work on Monday. Hoping it is as it sounds, we walked towards K-Road, and took a look at second hand shops, army and trekking shops, Op shops, and a good walk around. Receiving good news from the High Commission that the letter for the Travel Document was done, all we needed now is to obtain a signature from someone who has known us for a month! Buying daypacks and folders (back to the start!), we arrived back at the hostel around 16:00 after a 7.5km walk, exactly after started to drizzle! Cooking Penne with Tomato Sauce and Beef Rissoles, we watched a movie, and then went to Newmarket to stop by Warehouse and buy some work tops. Finding a $299 Windows 10 tablet with keyboard, we bought the long decided tablet, ate some soft serves from Burger King, and headed back to the hostel to sleep for the night.
          Day403
Making an egg toast with sausage, we headed off to the Central. Stopping by Britomart first to enquire about tomorrow's transport up to Warkworth, she told us to head to the iSite for further details. After stopping by the Warehouse for some work clothes, we headed to the Library to print out some documents. Heading to the Police Station to update the Report and to confirm if immigration has been contacted from their behalf, we bought food from New World, then around 16:30 headed back to the hostel. Cooking a delicious meal of Egg Fried Fettucine with Chicken, we then cooked lunch for tomorrow, then started packing. So much stuff and food! Managing to stuff everything in the backpacks, we then went to the wifi spot, and back to sleep around 01:00am.
          Day404
An early morning and scrub, we cooked an egg toast and by 09:40 we departed out of the hostel. Walking all the way to the Central Public Library with what felt like 50kgs of luggage each and three small mini breaks, we killed time surfing on the net till 15:20, eating the rice salad for lunch. Heading towards the InterCity Coach Station on Hobson Street, we presented our tickets to Warkworth ($26 per person) and at exactly 16:00 drove off. Passing by Silverdale and Orewa for the third time in the month here, we arrived at Warkworth at 17:04, precisely the time estimated on the ticket.
Buying some fresh food from New World, we got greeted by Brian (the owner) and Annette infront of the supermarket, and were driven up to the Farm. Greeting everyone on board, we settled in, took a walk around the farm, and before we knew it, it was dark, made some quick noodles, watched a film, and slept for a busy day of work tomorrow
          Day405
First day on the job!
Starting at 08:00, we got driven downhill towards the vineyard, and started picking the Pinot Gris, along with another 20people. Leon also assisting Caleb with lifting the crates full of grapes, and placing them on the trailer, providing new boxes, weighing them and then stacking them onto the pallets into the coolroom. Finishing by 14:30, Leon by 15:00, we then went back to the house, and after having a good wash, and washing the clothes, started cooking Spaghetti with Minced Meat. Relaxing, we spent a good time till 23:00 chatting, playing Charades and other similar games, Yahtzee and Uno with Canadians Sean and Madeline, Irish Dee and Eilis, Hungarian Bori, Japanese Haruka and Dutch Jannika.
          Day406
After some Oats for bfast, we headed down to the farm and started at 08:00. Removing the huge nets which covered the vines - Removing the pegs, making sure no branches and weeds held onto the net, throwing the net over the vines, and finally Caleb passing with the Mule through the rows, Kirsten and Jannika hand the net and Leon pulls them into the bags. A tiring day indeed! After some drizzling, we finished at 16:00, and cooked Penne with Minced Meat and Egg for dinner. Quite quiet without the Canadians and Irish, we spent some time talking about languages and customs with the Hungarian, Japanese and Dutch, then later in the evening just relaxed, then hit to bed for another tough day!
          Day407
After removing the last few nets remaining, at 08:30, Kirsten and Jannika started removing the weeds from around the glasshouse and carpark (and ended up all scratches). Leon removing the lower and higher ropes of the vine wire, finally the day ended. After making some Spaghetti Bolognese, we chilled around the lounge, rain falling heavily, then at 20:30 Brian the boss and his girlfriend Annette sat down with us and played some Uno, then headed to bed by 22:40.
          Day408
Starting at 08:00, Kirsten continued weeding till 16:00, whilst Leon started removing the remaining vine poles, removing the ropes of the young Pinot Gris, then mowed the owner's garden. After work, we helped Haruka in preparing dinner, then set off to Warkworth with Brian and Annett to shop for some food. After spending $90 from New World and Countdown, we then went back to the house, and enjoyed a good dinner with Haruka, Bori and Jannika, along with Brian and Annett. Making fresh Tuna Sushi, Tuna and Mayo, and Salmon Sushi with a mixture of avocados, spinach, carrots and cucumbers, we talked till late at night. Before heading to sleep at 23:15, we received a call from the MFA who advised us will look into this for us.
          Day409
First day off.
Making some good breakfast - eggs, toast, baked beans and sausages, we chilled indoors and organised some stuff. Changing the thought of doing the Sculpture Trail on the farm around 14:30 (weather was getting cloudy), we got introduced to an English Couple who had assisted on Monday with the Grape Picking and got on very well! Cooked Rice with Chicken in Mumbai Tamarind and Tomato. Learning that Lloren and Dan will stay on the farm for a few weeks too, we enjoyed chatting with them, along with Bori and Haruka, and before we knew it, it was time to sleep.
          Day410
After making some toast for bfast, and chilling in the morning, we headed towards Brick Bay Beach along the farm at 11:45. A 15minute walk to the beach, we got the Kayaks which belonged to the owner, and headed out! Kayaking along smaller beaches, we arrived at Sandspit Bay, and after resting on the beach, we headed back towards Brick Bay. An hour of kayaking, excluding rest stops, then another 30minutes enjoying the beautiful sun and the sand, we walked back to the woolshed around 14:45. Making some burgers, we filled them up with eggs and salad, chips, hash browns and baked beans. Delicious! And a missed meal after not owning an oven for such a long time!
Chilling on the couch and watching some Dragonball, we heard a squeak from the food closet, and found the bread nibbled for the second time! Trying to see whether it was a mouse or a rat, we set some bread in a line, and waited for them to be eaten. After seeing a cute small mouse an hour later, we decided there was nothing to worry about, and could sleep in peace, hopefully will not touch our food during the night!
          Day411
Peanut butter and jam toast for bfast, we waited for the time to pass, and at 11:00 Brian and Annett passed for us along with Lloren and Dan to assist them and work for two days accomodation (we have four days off, and get weekends off and bonus without working for them). Kirsten and Lloren sanding the bench first, whilst Leon was cleaning the house from the outside and Dan was mowing, after two hours, Kirsten, Lloren and Dan started painting the bench, and after Leon finished picking the bad weeds from around the garden, assisted in painting.
A beautiful and hot 26degrees day, we finished at 15:00, then headed to the woolshed and cooked Risotto and Chicken with wine. Killing some time and feeding the chickens and ducks and setting aside their eggs, Brian and Annett visited and enjoyed a good evening playing Uno with everyone, and drinking two different wines supplied by our boss till late at night
          Day412
Making a good filling bfast of egg, baked beans and toast, we got driven by Lloren and Dan to the supermarkets in Warkworth to do some shopping. Buying mostly candy, ice-cream, cookies and chocolates (New World had a big box of Maltesers for $2! Obviously we bought three boxes), we returned to the farm around 13:00. Weather getting cloudy and windy (scrapped the idea of Kayaking), we surfed the net to sort out some things, then around 17:00 cooked Penne with Tomato Sauce and Minced Meat.
After continuing surfing the net and washing the clothes, at 20:30 Dan put on the Need for Speed movie on his laptop sat down watching it with some ice-cream, then headed to bed.
          Day413
Kirsten - spending a whole day mulching with Lloren and Dan, driving the Mule, and making sure the trees have got enough mulch and the weeds are removed.
Leon - spent a good day trimming the grass in the same place we were at - Lost World. A 'garden' filled with exotic and rare plants collected by the farm owner which used to grow in NZ when the platonic plates were still together thousands of years ago, and are no longer growing here. After helping around with mulching, us two were asked to assist with closing the nets so no birds could pass through the vines and eat the grapes, and having fun running around the farm with the Mule. Finishing at 17:40, we went back to the woolshed, and cooked Tagliatelli with Tomato Sauce and Minced Meat, and relaxed in the Lounge Room, sorting out documents and organising stuff out before heading to bed.
          Day414
Amazing blooded sunrise! Kirsten helping Brian with sorting the boxes for tomorrow's grape pick, then continuing mulching with Lloren and Dan, up and down the steep hill, Leon spent all day weed-trimming in the Lost World too. All day raining! 13degrees! Chilling at the Woolshed, around 13:00 departed to The Warehouse at Snells Beach, then headed to Countdown and New World in Warkworth.
Watching some episodes, we made a delicious plate of Tenderised Marinated Beef, with Roast Vegetables and egg around 17:00, then relaxed till it was time to go to bed, feeling exhausted and going in early after a tough week's work.
          Day467

          Day470
Forecasted a day of heavy rain!
At 07:40 departed the Woolshed and drove to Matakana to help Warren for the day. Having a crew filming of the Matakana Markets on Saturday, we have to get the place ready, nice and tidy!
Spending all day cleaning the huge canvas sheet of the Market tent, we spent the day working in the sun, with a free mocha during smoko, and a free delicious muffin! Working hard and completely drenched with the water pipe, we finished at 17:00, drove back to the Woolshed, cooked Fusilli with Minced Meat in Tomato Sauce, then had Brian and Annett come over to play some Uno and for a chat.
          Day471
Another forecasted day of rain, but barely had any! Driving once again to the Matakana Village, we mulched next to the river bed during the morning, then continued cleaning the roof canvas, along with the side ones, cleaning the area, and racking the pebbly place. Doing a neat and great job, after a pat on the back and another amazing muffin (Raspberry and the other was Spinach, Pesto and Bacon), at 17:00 we drove back to the Woolshed, stopping quickly by Countdown before.

          Day473
After heavy rain all night and early morning, by 09:00 it all quietened down, so we drove off to Matakana. Walking around the Vintage Markets first and viewed antiques, jewellery and handmade items such as soap and knitwear, we then walked around the well-known Saturday Farmers Market in the area we just cleaned up on Wednesday and Thursday. Filled with people, and stalls full of organic fruit and vegetables, take-aways, nuts, honey, wine and more, we met Haruka unexpectedly, and after a nice catching up, sat down to watch a band country/blues band playing. Buying 2kgs of mandarins for just $5, we drove off to Warkworth around 11:15, and stopped by Countdown and New World.
Back at the Woolshed, we chilled the rest of the evening, marinated some Lamb Ribs which were given to us by Brian and Annett from the sheep on the farm, and placed that in the fridge for tomorrow! Cooking Fettucine with Mince Meat and Cream Cheese in the oven, we watched Knock Knock, then had Annett and Brian come over for a chit chat till late at night
          Day474

Eating the tender Lamb Ribs which were marinated in Soy, Bbq Sauce, White Wine and Rum, we also cooked Caramelised onions, Chips, eggs and a filled Capsicum with Rice. Enjoying the serenity and playing some music, we later watched Seventh Son, and chilled till it was time for bed.
          Day475
9degrees!
Working together, we spent the whole day clearing and weeding around the roses, and mulching them, and later weeded around the outdoor dining area. At the last hour, we started weeding in the Orchard, finishing at 16:00.
Eating Fusilli with Tomato Sauce and minced meat, we chilled indoors, warming ourselves up, and hitting bed early.
          Day476
8degrees! All day sunny and occasional rain, we spent the day continuing weeding around the Orchard, then went to the Young Pinot Gris vineyard, and weeded around the small vines to let them breathe. Burgers with chips for dinner, Brian and Annett came over for the evening, having a relaxed night and a late sleep in.

          Day477
First day of Winter. The weather is stunning and sunny! Continued weeding around the small vines! Our hands are so harsh! Stripping the pruned branches, we stacked them up, whilst Leon went with Caleb to load and unload some firewood. Imqarrun for dinner! Yummy! Having Brian and Annett come over once again, Rachel and the German Au Pair Deborah came too, playing Uno, drinking bottles of wine, eating crisps and having a great time!
          Day478
Freezing morning! Working out by stripping the vines and carrying the branches, the weather once again was cloudless! After break, we both started clearing around the Glasshouse, cleaning it, and getting it all tidy and nice for the busy long weekend ahead at the restaurant! Having a few drinks with Brian's mate, we cooked Butter Chicken for dinner, still continued our ritual of ice-cream for dessert, and chilled till 21:30.
          Day479
Lovely weather once again!

Leon weed strimmed and raked next to the glasshouse in the morning and after lunch, emptied the woolshed's and owner's house, recycling bins and continued stripping the pruned vines.
Having a few drinks with Brian, Annett, Kit and the chef from the glasshouse, we spent the evening relaxed, cooked Pizza Wraps, and made our way into bed early.
          Day480

Making some proper breakfast, we went to Snells Beach, The Warehouse. Driving to Warkworth, we shopped at Countdown and New World, then went back to the Woolshed around 14:30. Making small Apple Pies, we started cooking Baked Rice with Minced Meat and Tomato Sauce, and sorted out some things, later watching "Brooklyn".
          Day481
9degrees and sunny weather again!
Deciding not to stay indoors, after breakfast and sorting out some things, by 12:00 we took off for a nice long hike. Crossing through the farm, we walked down to Brick Bay Beach, calculated it to be low tide, so we crossed over the wet sand onto Snells Beach. Walking along the shoreline, we made our way to The Warehouse around 5km later. Buying Pizza Flavoured Shapes for $2 and a small coke for $1, we walked all the way back to Snells, and sat down drinking some beer and snacking, listening to music. 14:35, Continued walking and crossing the low tide beach onto Brick Bay, and sat down drinking beer there, watching the tide come in slowly.
Arriving at the Woolshed at 15:55, we cooked Butter Chicken with Rice, then had Brian and Annett come over, getting free bottles of Brick Bay wine, playing Uno and having a great time chatting away till late.
          Day482
Queen's Birthday - 06/06/2016.
Also Maori New Year. It is the small cluster of stars in the Taurus constellation that rise during the New Zealand winter.

Spending the day relaxed, watching documentaries, listening to music, sorting some stuff out.
16:20 Cooking a delicious plate of Lamb Rissoles, Marinated Chicken Drumsticks, the farm's fresh Lamb Sausages, Dumplings, Chips and Salad. Watching "Big Eyes" in the evening, we got everything sorted and ready for a short week of work ahead!

          Day483
Driving out to Matakana, we have a big job to do for the next three days! Weeding out the garden patches around the whole carpark (and breaking around three forks!), we cleared around the trees, uprooted some plants, and removed all weeds and roots. Spending till 16:30, we drove to Warkworth, bought some groceries and headed to the woolshed. Being surprised by a rabbit Walter had caught, we somehow managed to skin it (a very sad operation), cleaned it and tanned its fur. Eating a platter Ana got us earlier, we nibbled on delicious glasshouse food: cheese, olives, capers, mozzarella, salmon, salami, mushrooms and dips, along with three different types if bread, then headed to bed after a long day.
          Day484
Back to Matakana Village, we worked alongside Warren, and Liz (one of NZ's best gardeners by profession). Clearing around the garden patches next to the shops, we raked leaves, uprooted the Deities and other plants, and cleared the area. Cloudy, but no rain, we finished at 16:00, drove back home, cooked an Apple Pie, sorted some things, and cooked Fusilli with Chinese Five Spices Sauce and Chicken. Geezer not working, and shower water beyond freezing (brain freeze just by washing my hair!), we then had Brian come over, played some Shithead, and at 21:30 went to bed.
          Day485
Another day in Matakana Village! Weeding, we viewed a Subaru Outback which belonged to one of the shop owners, however after taking it for a drive, and to a mechanic to confirm when the services where last done, the timing belt was overdue by 20,000km, and was still above our budget to fix. Warren leaving at noon, we continued weeding by ourselves till 16:00.
At the Woolshed, we cooked Fusilli with Minced Meat and Tomato Sauce, then had Brian and Annett, along with ex-glasshouse collegue Rachel over. Learning how to play Texas Hold Em (Poker), we spent the evening drinking wine and snacking, and beginner's luck, Kirsten winning the pot! Too bad we only paid with fake chips!
          Day486
Kirsten - Sculpture Trail and Cleaning Woolshed along with cleaning all the glass.
Leon - Sorting the Recycling, cleaning gutters, and washing the Ute and Mule.
Finishing at 15:00 after a day of occasional heavy rain, we drank some beer with Brian after work, listening to some old school Rock, such as Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show, then after departing, we cooked Chicken with Rice in Korma, then had the guys come over again around 19:30, along with Matt, a friend, and the Glasshouse Chef - Braydon. Another great night of drinking and socialising and playing Uno, around 22:30 everyone departed and we hit to bed.
          Day487
Eating bfast eggs and baked beans in a wrap, at 10:40 we departed to Warkworth to view a car. Coming across a letter in the letter box stating Kirsten received a parcel which requires a signature for it (hoping it is the Certificate of Identity!!), we quickly drive to Snells Beach - Four Square - however advised us the parcel might actually arrive on Monday. Curious to know what it was, we drove off to Warkworth, and viewed a Toyota Caldina. Having alot of problems to fix, but selling only for $900, we weren't too sure what to do, and enquire when mechanics would be open to take a look at it (Monday next).
Off to Countdown and New World, then drove up to the Woolshed. Watching some Dragonball, we started frying the rabbit in garlic, then let it braise with wine and soy sauce for almost two hours! Adding chips and egg, we felt stuffed and so home-sick (foodwise!).
Around 20:00, we headed to Brian's place (a hundred metres away from the Woolshed), and spent the evening drinking beer and watching the Rugby Game - the All Blacks (New Zealand) vs Wales first test match. All Blacks winning, we stayed longer till around 23:30, then headed back to the Woolshed to sleep.
          Day488
Grey clouds and rain! Chilling all day indoors, watching documentaries, sorting out stuff, cooked Kahawai fish, with beer batter, chips and salad, then watched Charlies Farm. Couldn't have asked for a more relaxing day!
          Day489
Back to work! A drizzle in the early morning, the weather took a toll and dropped down to 6degrees. Kirsten weeding all day, and Leon also assisted with clearing the Shed and driving to Matakana, we finished at 16:00, then took the Scooby out to Snells Beach to obtain the received item. Having Leon's letter still not arriving, we somehow got worried. Arriving at Four Square, the lady at the shop advised she could not find any letters in our names. Informing her this might be a very important document, she looked again, and there we saw it! A letter addressed to both of us. Quickly opening it... the TRAVEL DOCUMENTS!! We received both Certificates of Identity, valid for a year! Very relieved, we walked to The Warehouse, bought some chocolates, and sweets, walked around with huge smiles on our faces, and Kirsten toppled over a box of Kinder surprise eggs with her excitement! This document has solved so many problems by being accepted. The other alternative was more of a hassle!
Back at the Woolshed, we cooked Fusilli with Minced Meat and leftover Rabbit Sauce, then chilled on the Sofa till it was time for bed.
          Day490
Spending the day weeding around the same place as yesterday, we finished at 16:00, then started cooking Baked Pasta with Minced Meat and Macaroni. Having some chocolate ice-cream, we then relaxed and hit to bed early.

          Day491
Kirsten - Spent the morning with Brian driving out to Matakana to clean the compost pile. At 10:20, arrived back at the farm and joined Leon with uprooting and replanting some plants. Doing this till Lunch, we later went to the Bromeliad Walkway, and cleared around the dead plants and weeding.
Cooking Chicken Korma in Rice, we had Brian and Annett come over to play Uno, then had an early night in for Matakana tomorrow!
          Day492

Finishing at 16:30, we let Walter out and running around the Woolshed (Manager's were out all day at Field Days - an open exhibition of farm related items), and cooked Fusilli with Chicken in Tomato Sauce. Locking Walter up around 19:30, we watched 'Run All Night', then went to sleep.
          Day493
Kirsten working on the Sculpture Trail till 10:00, and Leon helped in clearing behind the Woolshed, we had Smoko at the Glass House, mochas and latte, then started unloading all the wine boxes out of the truck and off the pallet, into the store room. Already noon, we had Lunch, then Kirsten continued the Sculpture Trail and cleaning the Woolshed, whilst Leon weeded around some sculptures, tied back some hanging branches, and planted Dietes.
Chilling at the farm, we cooked Egg Fried Spaghetti with Bacon, then went to bed early due to the very high humid and cold.
          Day494
A relaxing morning, we ate Brunch (Eggs, Beans and Salad in a wrap), sorted our stuff, did our washing, and around 15:00 started preparing our Dinner. Eating Cabbage Leaves filled with Rice and Bacon, and Chips, we got ready and went out for a nice long walk. Leaving the Farm around 18:00, we walked all the way down to Snells Beach through the Farm, visited LiquorLand and bought x6 375ml Fosters, then walked to the Beach. Enjoying a relaxed evening drinking beer, listening to Deep House Lounge, and experimenting with the Camera's Long Exposure (trying to write New Zealand with a torch!!), we watched some locals fishing in the dark by using just nets, then around 21:00 went to the Salty Dog for a pint. Buying a jug of Steinlager Gold Ale, and Lager for $16, we watched the remaining 20mins of the Rugby game - All Blacks vs Wales. All Blacks winning again, we walked back to the Farm along the Coast and a steep uphill, walking a total of 8.76km, smashing ourselves in bed.
          Day495
Departing the Woolshed at 09:30, we stopped at Matakana to view the Sunday Markets. Finding nothing there, we chilled at the Village next to the river, and trying to see if the running around dog belonged to anyone. Trying to grab his tag to phone the owner, but to no luck, we had to leave and meet a German fellow to view a Toyota Cavalier. Not having any history or receipts of the car, no AC, and Driver window does not open, for $1500, we advised will get in touch. Already noon, we walked towards a Free Stuff Stall, then drove to Warkworth. Buying from Countdown and New World, we headed back to the Woolshed, chilled, then cooked Marinated Lamb, with Lamb Rissoles and farm Lamb Sausages, salad and chips, then watched some documentaries. Having Brian and Annett over for a short time to talk, we then headed to bed, and watched 'Hello My Name is Doris'.
          Day496
Misty morning! Unable to see the usual morning view from uphill, we spent the day picking up the pruned grape branches, and weeding around the small vines.
Cooking Penne with Chicken and Tomato Sauce, we sat down chilling, had a few beers with Brian, then hit to bed.
          Day497
Shortest day of the year!

Kirsten - Cleaning around the glasshouse framework, aluminium, plastic and glass.
Leon - Weed strimmed, continued picking the pruned vines, and cleaned out the herb garden.

Cooked a delicious plate of burger, and chilled all evening.

          Day498
All day pouring down rain and 32km/hr wind!
Kirsten - Cleaning the rooftop framework today, all day again. Cracked dry hands!
Leon - Picked macadamia nuts in the morning. Spending the afternoon weeding and cleaning the herb garden next to the glasshouse, picking more macadamia nuts and cleaning the board walks next to the coral pond.

Cooked Baked Pasta for dinner.

          Day499
Weather not as bad as yesterday!
Kirsten - Finalising the last few framework on top of the glasshouse roof, later cleaned the storage room, and glasshouse toilets, finishing around 15:15, then cleaning relaxed around the Woolshed.
Leon - Drove to Matakana Village. Spent the day helping Chris, cutting and fixing gypsum partitions, also sound proofing.

Cooked Rice Noodles with Mumbai Sauce and Chicken, and spent the evening with Victor for the last time, talking, showing us how he makes the hand made jewellery and some of his patterns, then headed to bed.
          Day500
A warm and sunny day!
Kirsten working on the Sculpture Trail, then cleaned the Woolshed, whilst Leon gravelled the path next to the glasshouse using a compactor machine, filled potholes, then lawn mowed. Having a confirmation of when we need to leave from the Woolshed (10/07 as they will be rebuilding the Woolshed), at 15:00 we quickly drove down to Algies Bay to view a Nissan Primera. Liking the car, and taking it for a spin, we advised will need to get it checked out tomorrow.
Back at the Woolshed, we cooked Rice Noodles with Chinese Five Spice, drank some beer for the occasion of celebrating 500days of travel, then watched 'Colonia' and hit to bed early.
          Day501
After a morning of full on heavy rain and wind, we ate some toast for breakfast, and went to Warkworth to buy from Countdown and New World. Back at the Woolshed around 14:00, we drove down to Algies Bay to pick up the car and have this colleague's (Kitt) friend to take a look at it. Advising it had too much rust which might be a problem for the WOF, we advised we might pass on the car. Feeling sad as it seemed in very good condition, back at the Woolshed cooked Lamb Sausages, Lamb Rissoles, Marinated Lamb, and chips, salad and eggs, then after relaxing with the warm heater and rain still heavily at it, went to bed to watch 'Despite the Falling Snow'.

          Day502
Horrible 11degrees weather! Looking at cars online, we hoped for the weather to calm down, then at 14:00 headed down to Albany to view a Hyundai Lantra off an Austrian girl. Driving for over an hour to get there, 74kms later, we took a look around the car, switched the engine on and the radiator started leaking. Looking like it hasn't been topped up for a while, we gave it a pass, and went to Glenfield to view a VW Polo. A well damaged body, but runs smoothly, we decided to pass as to fix it's problems would go above our budget. Quickly making it to Glen Eden just before dark, we viewed a Nissan Avenir, took it for a test spin and decided all good to go! Advising her will come back down to pick it up tomorrow during light (and take it to a mechanic), we drove back to the Woolshed around 18:30, gladly, arriving around 19:45. Quickly making Penne with Chicken Carbonara, we rested after a long day, then hit to bed.
          Day503
Working from 08:00 - 13:00 trimming and weeding the Carex Grass (also known as Cutting Grass), we quickly set our way to Glen Eden to pick up the car. Taking it to a mechanic in Henderson (after calling so many mechanics all varying between $75-140), this guys costed us $45 to get the Nissan checked. Having Charlotte come with us, unfortunately they pinpointed stuff out which would cost us quite some money to fix (such as CV Joints, two wheel bearings, power steering belt, etc). Would not go lower than the price we agreed on yesterday - $1000 - even though mechanic found a list, we parted ways, and advised her if she got some things fixed, we would gladly buy it for $1000.
Stopping by Massey on the way back up to Warkworth, we visited Pak N Save, then continued our long drive, disappointed, towards Brick Bay. 18:30 Cooking Penne with Tomato Sauce and Minced Meat, we chilled on the Sofa, and continued our car search hoping we leave here in 2weeks with a good car!

          Day504
Sunshine!
Slowly making up for the 2 and a half hours we lost yesterday, we started at 07:30, continued trimming the 3,000 Carex Grass, and finished at 16:00. Making Chicken Broth, with potatoes, pumpkin, carrots and pasta. We watched some documentaries, continued our car search, then around 23:00 hit to bed after a tiring day!
          Day505
What a horrendous day of wind, rain and cold!
Working from 07:30 till 10:00 cutting the Cutting Grass in the 'Valley', we had to stop after smoko due to the heavy rain. Searching for cars, we tidied up the room, Leon assisted Caleb in the big house trying to fix the TV, then after sorting out what we need to ship to Malta, drove out to the Post Office in Warkworth.
3.7kgs - International Air - 3-10 business days - $90.44. Stopping by Countdown and New World, we drove up, chilled on the sofa, now sun brightly out and shining, then cooked Spaghetti with Chicken in Tomato Sauce, and baked an Apple Pie. Kept looking and posting for cars, we decided to head to bed and knocked off quite immediately.
          Day506
Pure sunshine!
All day trimming the cutting grass from 07:30, obviously ending up with our hands and arms all cut, we finished at 16:00. Cooking Hoki Fish fillet with chips and salad, we spent the evening searching online for cars, messaging people to view the cars this weekend, and hoping to buy a car before we depart the farm in a week' time!
          Day507
Kirsten - The usual morning Sculpture Trail from 07:30 and finishing at 10:00 just in time for smoko. Leon spent the morning trimming the cutting grass. Kirsten joining him till after break to trim the 3,000 grasses, stopped at 14:00, and spent the last remaining hour cleaning the Woolshed.
Finally finishing on this beautiful sunshine day, we cooked Spaghetti with Minced Meat and Tomato Sauce, getting ready, and ... GREAT NEWS!! Receiving an email from the Canberra High Commission, we were advised there is a new Scheme that a Consul will be coming to NZ around beginning of August and would be able to take our biometrics and photo and get our passports issued here!! Speaking with Rosemary on the phone, the great news came to a shock to us, and yet will save us on such a great amount of money! Quickly, at 18:35 departed towards Matakana. Going over to Ana, we were asked to house-sit and babysit whilst they went out for the evening. Spending from 19:30 just after the children went to bed and the owners went out, watched 'The Babadook' and 'The Do-Over', arriving at 23:00. Saying a few words and chatting away we were given an unexpected $50, then headed back to the Woolshed, a freezing 3degrees and expected to drop to 0 during the night!
          Day508
So cold!
Waking at 08:00,5 degreees, making toast with beans, started creating a route to view the cars, and at 09:42 departed. 8degrees and seeing frost along the way, the weather was a beautiful cloudless and sunny day. Stopping by Orewa to message people, we decided to set the GPS to Stella to view her Nissan Primera first in Airport Oaks, Mangere. 93km later, we arrived but found no one with the name of Stella, but a guy Stephen selling his Nissan Avenir. Kirsten got mixed up with the names and numbers! Tsk tsk! Ending up a good mistake as this was one of the top listed, we viewed the car, took it for a spin, and debated whether to look at other cars or not (still had 6others to go!). Just $850, and to our liking, we quickly went around Mangere to find a mechanic to take a look at it, however all had closed by noon. Debatting whether it would be a mistake or not to just buy it, at 12:57 shook hands, and bought the car for just $700! Quickly driving to VTNZ in Manukau to do the transfer ($9), we went back to the warehouse Stephen Paea was working at, then Kirsten departed with the work car Scooby, and Leon driving the new Auto car!
Arriving at 15:30, we immediately started cooking Chicken Satay with Rice, then headed out to The Warehouse in Snells Beach to drive the car around. Freezing cold, we switched the heater on in the Woolshed, then headed to bed around 22:15 feeling satisfied!
          Day509
Sunday. Cloudless and a beautiful blue sky, however very cold! Being impressed by seeing flies to cold to fly, started clearing and cleaning the car, fixing some stuff (loose speaker connection, radio settings, etc), at 11:00 the sun was brightly shining hot and the weather turned warm. Making our war to Countdown to buy (and being refused to buy alcohol with the Certificate of Identity - furious!!), we then drove to New World, and managed to buy the twelve pack for a dollar less. Chilling at the Woolshed, heater now switched on again, we watched some documentaries, then cooked Penne with Minced Meat and Tomato Sauce, and our daily dosage intake of Cookies and Cream Ice-Cream (still freezing 7degrees outside!). Weather changed to raining, we decided to hit to bed and enjoy the last week under a roof, and last week of employment.
          Day510
"Heigh-ho, heigh-ho. It's off to work we go".
Starting at 08:00, we continued the long and repetitive job of trimming the remaining cutting grass using the hedge-trimmer to speed the process up. Finishing at 16:00, Kirsten started cooking Penne with Minced Meat and Tomato Sauce, whilst Leon tried building a template cover for the back part of the car. Temperature dropped down to 3degrees again (its a cloudless 14degrees during day and very hot!), we hit to bed around 22:30 for a good night's sleep.
          Day511
Trimming the cutting grass once again. Drizzled for a brief moment today, otherwise the weather was beautiful. 08:00 - 16:00, this might be the last week we can work along this trip, due to being the only country apart from Australia to be able to get the Working Holiday Visa.
Making Rice Noodles with Chicken in Mumbai Sauce, we ate the last scoops of Boysenberry Ice-Cream, 10degrees tonight, and hit to bed.
          Day512
Trimming grass - 08:00 - 16:00 - Beautiful day - Cooked Baked Pasta with Carbonara... fell under a routine. Looking forward to next week to see what New Zealand holds for us this time!
Brian and Annett came over from their holiday and spent the evening along with an ex-collegue Rachel, playing cards, drinking wine and chatting the night away.
          Day513
Raining during the day, we continued the last few grasses with the hedge-trimmer and finally we were done by 16:30. Quickly driving around Snells Beach to look for a mechanic to give the car a service, we decided it was best to wait till next week from the CBD, bought some power steering fluid to ease some steering squeaking and headed back to the woolshed. Meeting a new German couple who will be assisting in refurbishing the woolshed, Sophie and Toby, we cooked some Fusilli in Tomato Sauce and Chicken, then spent the evening talking with Brian and Annett, heading to bed late.
          Day514
Last day of work! After a night of full on rain, we woke up to the farm having damages: a huge slip, uprooted plants, and passageways washed away. Leon helping with the carpark, cleaning drains and filling the passageways, Kirsten cleaned the sculpture trail, cleared the boardwalks, and racked the leaves in front of the glasshouse.
15:00 and spent some time chatting with Brian, Annett, Caleb and Kitt. Already 16:30, we got ready for the last minute bbq for our farewell, marinated the ribs, drove quickly off to New World in Warkworth to buy some beer, and headed back just in time for the cooked Pork Ribs and Sausages. Having a few people come in the evening, we spent the night drinking wine and beer, chatting, being given a farewell Feijoa Wine from Rachel, and listening to music before heading to sleep.
          Day515
Made some quick breakfast, we drove down to Warkworth and visited the Hospice 2nd Hand Shop (grapefruit 10c each!), Countdown, The Warehouse and bought a black fleece for an improvised boot cover, then another 2nd Hand Shop.
Back at the Woolshed, we got the pre-form we had made, and started cutting the fleece to stick onto it. Getting late, we went to Omahu to pick up a former colleague, Haruka from a hostel, then after arriving at the Woolshed, cooked Baked Pasta with Minced Meat, and shared a plate with Haruka. Playing Uno, we had Brian, Annett and Rachel come over, and spent the rest of the night laughing and chatting away before we dropped Haruka off at her hostel and said our goodbyes.
          Day516
Beautiful day and sunshine!
Busy day packing all things in the car, and finalising the car boot, we cooked one last time some Fusilli with Minced Meat and Tomato Sauce, ate some last few spoons of ice-cream, cooked some lunch for tomorrow, and watched one final documentary before we hit to bed!
Still not sure where to head and go, we booked a service on Wednesday in Auckland through a deal ($89 instead of $249), and asked someone to couchsurf us as the previous one had cancelled on us quite last minute, and we were still relaxed on the fact that we have nowhere to sleep!
