Go Orange! Milford Sound Cruise

Place: Milford Sound, New Zealand
Visited: 12th October 2016

Milford Sound, or Piopiotahi, is a fiord in the South West of New Zealand's South Island, within Fiordland National Park.

Another big attraction on our New Zealand 'to do' list!  Finding it quite difficult to choose a sailing company to do the cruise with as most were quite expensive, we came across Go Orange who had decent prices, very good star rating and an additional 15minute to the trip! Deciding to give it a go, we walked in the office in Te Anau, where they had a discount offer for a $45 cruises instead of $90!
The receptionist was very helpful, and advised accordingly due to the crazy weather Milford Sound was suffering. Advising that if the morning cruise gets cancelled due to the snow predictions, automatically our cruise gets transferred to the afternoon one, with complimentary fish and chips!

Infact, due to the weather conditions, the 10am cruise was cancelled, and our booking was automatically transferred for an afternoon one. Seeing hundreds and hundreds of people waiting to board, we had a fright, however were very fortunate to just be 20 people aboard!
The complimentary fish and chips were a bonus, with tea and coffee. The cruise was spectacular, with a drive out to the Tasman Sea, and a brilliant commentator with very informative facts. All the staff was friendly, and the cruise took it's time to make sure we got up close to the rare Galapagos Penguins, take many photos of the seals, and refresh ourselves under one of the biggest waterfall with the freshest drinking water we ever tasted!

What an impeccable experience! Truly an unforgettable two hour cruise in one of New Zealand’s most stunning natural attractions!
