10feet, 11feet and going up... And we mean thousands of feet above land! Looking down upon Mount Cook, the Franz Josef Glacier, the Fox Glacier and the Sea, the view was picturesque, and the day felt perfect! 15feet and still going up... Our hearts were beating fast, and the oxygen mask was feeling tight. I'm not one scared of heights, but this was a tad crazy... The crew was very comforting though, could not have asked for friendlier staff, and so genuine.

We felt safe!

Looking at each other, the plane door opened and at 19,000feet, we got thrown over! What a sensation! The 80second freefall felt like decades, and the feeling was phenomenal. I mean, if you had to skydive, why not skydive the highest tandem in the world? Franz Josef Skydive offered the amazing package of freefalling, with most amazing breathtaking views! We felt more majestic than Mount Cook itself! All we could see were dots... Are those sheep? Oh no they're buildings!

We also had a turn in controlling the parachute. Without a doubt we made some sharp swirls. THIS is the reason why we live. I remember shouting: I NEVER FELT MORE ALIVE! The instructor must have thought we were crazy. But both the guys we were with were very patient! Henry and Jack deserve all the credit they can get!

Rewind to an hour ago, we were at Reception working, when all of a sudden, we received a phone call asking us whether we wanted to skydive. Why would we say no?? The weather at first seemed abit cloudy, come on, it is the West Coast after all, but the weather seemed to open up whilst driving to the Drop Off Zone. Petra, the receptionist at the Office was beyond helpful! We were rest assured we were in safe hands. And just before heading up on the plane, all crew looked professional and made sure we were strapped well. 'Do you trust me?'...

Two days short of the New Year, how could this not be the best way to end the year with a bang? Well hopefully not literally!
